In the Blink of an Eye

Updated: Oct 4, 2021

In the same day, one accident and a near accident, each of which could have been tragedies, to me, were miracles because God delivered both from harm. The first thought that came to my mind as I was being told of each one was, thank you Lord for Your hedge of protection. It was His Hand that covered them and the others who would have been involved.

We are not guaranteed we will live out this day. In each incident, it would have been the fault of another and my loved ones would have been lives tragically taken or hurt. It happens in the blink of an eye, with no time to prepare, just react. That is why we have to be ready to meet Jesus at any time. That is why we don’t need to leave words unspoken between the ones we love. We are not always given the opportunity to say good bye or to give a final hug.

When something like this happens, God can speak life back into the situation. He can let us know that He is in control and that He had His Hand of protection over you during what could have been a tragedy. I know that is true of the three precious souls He covered two days ago. He is not finished with them. They each have a calling on their life and until that calling is brought to fruition, God will continue to work through each of them.

We don’t know the minute or the hour when He will call us home - or when it may be our last day on this earth ... so be ready. Love BIG, forgive BIGGER, and always check your heart and ask for forgiveness yourself.

I am thankful for the hedge of protection I can pray over the ones I love, and for the blood of Jesus that covers a multitude of sins.

""Above all, maintain constant love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8, CSB)

There’s a saying, home is where life begins and love never ends. Terri's childhood home, where her mother still lives, is filled with her mama’s love, the memories of her daddy, and Jesus. The home became her refuge at a time in life when she needed to heal...
